In the summer of 2007, we were accosted by at least one North Philly native on YouTube who lifted the shroud of ignorance from our eyes, educating us on the trials and strife one can be expected to encounter on the North Philly streets each day.
Following this life lesson, we were inspired to document the harsh conditions of North Philly, but due to lack of funds and cajones to set foot in North Philly, we settled for taking our newly acquired profound knowledge of the territory and made this accurate depiction, documentary style, of one of the many struggles that any North Phillian comes to know all too well. Don’t take your simple luxuries for granted.
*editor’s note – For anyone who is a fan of ‘It’s Always Sunny..,’ you will notice the similarities to the opening of each episode. This was incidental as I hadn’t even started watching the show until well after I had put the intro into place. By then it had already fit, so I wasn’t planning on removing it.
