Full History

SwB Crew Productions began with, then hobbyist, Joshua Bennett. In his Elementary and Middle School days, Josh was very active in home movie making, often with his cousins or whoever he could find. Eventually, Josh’s two neighbors, Ryan Baker and James Curtis were introduced to Josh’s hobby of movie making and soon were hooked.

For the next few years, it was primarily the three of them who very actively made an array of what could perhaps be called very rudimentary short movies, but back then were self-titled, “Skits.” Through the years, the group added members, improved upon the craft of movie/filmmaking and other forms of media production, and dubbed themselves, “The SwB Crew.”

Nobody outside of the crew knows what SwB means, and members will assure anyone that its relevance is practically non-existent. There was never any intended reason or aspirations of secrecy for keeping the acronym private, but those who do know laugh when asked about it, often insisting it is slightly juvenile.

Active and inactive crew members alike both deserve mention, as they have shaped the crew into what it is today. Notable inactive members include: Seth Williams, a senior in high school who has enlisted to serve his country in the Army, and lifelong neighbor of the Baker, Bennett and Curtis. Brandon Bennett, cousin of Josh Bennett and a junior in high school. Brandon was helping Josh make his “skits” well before any other member. There are numerous more, Tyler Slayden, Aaron Bays, Aaron Graves, Cody Funderburg, Jesse Gammons, Mark Horsewood, Shane Cunningham, Jonathan Hill, and Jared Hatcher all once played a more active role in the crew. While a number of them still experience activity from time to time, they are still considered more inactive than not. Regardless, they are still loved by the crew.

Primary players in the swb crew are James Curtis, currently 21 and an entrepreneurship major at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Josh Bennett, 20, working full time at One Stop Digital, an audio video studio in Franklin, TN– with plans to finish school. Robert Bolgeo, 20, who currently is studying Film with a production emphasis at Biola University in Los Angeles, CA. Zephyriah Shane Tucker Wuchina, 19, who is currently a professional communications major at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. Jonathan Lovvorn, 20, who is currently studying Networking Systems at ITT Tech in Nashville, TN. And finally, Ryan Jarmon, 23, who is married.

Though somewhat separated during the school year, swb Crew still remains fairly active in their personal and entertainment oriented productions among those still in the Middle Tennessee area and on breaks. Though not yet at the stage of fully taking their experience and creative talents into the business field, they are always willing and ready to entertain any job offers. As always, the swb crew remains committed to just being a group of friends, filming at their own leisure.
